Buffet reached an agreement to purchase the Van Tuyl family’s majority stake in their 78 dealerships that sell 240,000 vehicles a year and had nearly $8 billion in revenue in 2013. The Van Tuyl Group is the fifth-largest car dealership group in the United States and the family will become billionaires from the sale. Larry has also been involved with property developer and manager VanTrust Real Estate and is the sole owner. VanTrust will not be affected by the deal. In 2017 Larry Van Tuyl spent $55 million to acquire an absolutely stunning property in Newport Harbor, California.
